From hand-sewn purses to handmade glass items, she does it all!
Marian's Story
"I was born and raised in Charlevoix , Michigan. I attended Brooks College for Women in Long Beach California, graduating from their Interior Design
Department.
I moved to Grand Rapids after college and worked at various jobs. In 1979 I began an apprenticeship with Windemuller Electric, Inc. I earned an Electrical Journeyman’s license and Master’s license from the State of Michigan. I worked for Windemuller for 36 years, retiring as a construction superintendent.
I always enjoyed creating craft designs and sewing. After retirement, I began making fabric purses to sell. Then I became hooked on fused glass!
I now have two glass kilns and one ceramic kiln, taking over a large section of my husband’s pole barn. I love to try new methods of working with glass. Now I try to sell my work to support my habit!"
