How They're Made
Silver Forest jewelry is enchanting, playful, filled with color, texture and movement. They believe that the difference is in the details. Their jewelry is made using quality materials and lovingly handcrafted in Southern Vermont.
Their earwires are surgical steel or surgical steel with a 18k gold overlay. There is no nickel used in their plating process.
They use genuine semi-precious stones as well as glass beads, natural materials, and genuine Austrian Crystal to accent.
Their metals consist of raw brass or copper. Each shape or disk is cut and rolled out with propriety textures. All of their jewelry is Lead free and Cadmium free. All of their jewelry is soldered, never glued.
They use three distinct color processes in the finishing of the jewelry. There will be slight color variations in the jewelry due to the different textures on the metal and how each process adheres to a particular piece of metal.
Caring for Your Jewelry
Caring for Silver Forest products is simple. They recommend soapy water and a clean, chemical free soft cloth be used on the plated (shiny) pieces—this includes all of the Spirit line.
The metal with darker stain (antiqued) and pieces with color have been treated with a clear lacquer finish that should prevent tarnishing. You should not “clean” these pieces as it may remove the clear coat protection. Further, you should avoid direct application of hair product or chemically treated water as it may also diminish the protection that they have applied.
